EPS Industry Establishes Roberts Service Award

CROFTON, MD – The EPS Molders Association (EPSMA) and the Alliance of Foam Packaging Recyclers (AFPR) have established the Roberts Service Award in honor of Scott and Vance Roberts’ leadership and volunteer commitment to the EPS industry. The creation of the award was formally announced and presented to Tec and Sarah Roberts at the Associations’ annual conference, EPS EXPO, in Atlanta, GA this spring. The award was presented by EPSMA Vice President Bruce Carruthers of Plasti-Fab. Ltd. Dave Bolland represented Plymouth Foam.

The Roberts Award will be presented annually at EPS EXPO for outstanding volunteer service and exceptional contributions on behalf of the EPS industry. Criteria for nominees will be developed by the EPSMA and AFPR Boards of Directors. Generally, nominees must have served, worked or been associated with the EPS industry for a certain number of years and exhibited outstanding service through active participation in AFPR and/or EPSMA
Association committees, boards and/or educational presentations at industry events.

Both Scott and Vance Roberts played key leadership roles and were dedicated volunteers in the EPS Molders Association. Scott served as President of the Association from 2002 to 2004 and was a long standing Board member. Vance was a member of both the EPSMA Marketing and Technical Committees.

AFPR and EPSMA represent EPS shape and block molders in North America. The Associations’ provide outreach materials on EPS packaging and building and construction applications and play an active role in the technical advancement and research of EPS recycling and production.
